If you have visited Wilson-Hurd’s website sometime in the last 3 months, you might have noticed some major changes. On February 3rd, 2015 we launched our brand new corporate website, adding a variety of new features that are designed to make the product design and ordering process even easier for our customers and prospective clients. Take a look at some of the new things you can do on wilsonhurd.com:

1. Design Guidelines

Wilson-Hurd’s new Design Guidelines have been created by our Engineering department to assist you with the development of your custom Electronic Control Product. Each set of Design Guidelines features:

  • Important things to consider before designing your product
  • Construction details
  • Available materials
  • Tooling options
  • Electrical layout
  • Technical details
  • Word glossary defining important terms, and much more.

Design Guidelines are currently available for capacitive switches, elastomeric keypads, membrane switches, PiezoPanels, and Touchscreens, and can be found on their corresponding product pages.

Quick Tips on In-Store Placement of POP Displays

diorcounterdisplay399x399 Point-of-purchase (POP) displays are strategically placed in-store displays designed to attract customers to a specific product or brand. They can be used to highlight new products, special offers, or events such as a holiday sale.  When used properly POP displays can create a memorable impression of your brand, as well as easily increase the sale of your product.

Research states that consumers will only take a few seconds to make a decision on a product. They usually do not thoroughly scan or take the time to look at all of their choices, which is why the placement of your displays is such a key factor.

While deciding on where to place your POP display, keep these quick tips in mind:

Place goods near the front of stores.

Products that are in the front of stores, specifically near the checkout counter are most likely to be viewed by a customer while they are waiting in line to checkout. This is also the place with the most foot traffic, allowing more people to view the display.

Keep shopper’s line of sight in mind.

People will not buy products that they can’t see. So keeping your displays at eye level will increase the chances of customers purchasing your products.

Set your POP display to the right of brand names.

If your product is not necessarily a brand name, place it to the right of one that is. People tend to look at items in the same direction that they read.

Place around escalators or elevators of department stores.
